Trent Christensen is a pop folk artist living and working in Los Angles, California. HIs early childhood and adolescence were spent in Canon City, Colorado. The influence of the landscape and culture of Colorado still has an impact on his approach to art and image making, but there is now an equal if not greater impact of California and the arts culture that influences his creative path. Since early on in his artistic career Trent has been heavily influenced by the rawness and accessibility of folk and outsider art. Although he attended a fine arts program for his undergraduate degree he maintains a passion for non traditional and raw approaches to making. He also fosters this passion through his work as an art instructor and advocate for adult artists with developmental and/or learning disabilities. Other influences that impact him range from textile design, mystic philosophy, modern design, decorative vases, thrift store bric-a-brac, and food culture. His work has been featured on better luck next time and he has show his work in Los Angeles as well as abroad.
